About Harbor View Marine Surveying

Our Principal Surveyor, Richard (Huck) Halley, is an SA (Surveyor Associate) member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) and currently serves as the Fleet Captain for the Northport Yacht Club. He has spent his entire life around boats and boating and has years of experience, including firsthand practical knowledge of both power and sailboats. Coming from an engineering background, he is a past president of ASHRAE Long Island and a graduate of the Chapman School of Seamanship for Yachts & Small Craft Surveyors. Richard is recognized by the American Boat and Yacht Council as a Certified ABYC Standards Advisor. Richard also gives back to the community as he serves on the industry advisory board for the workforce development curriculum at Suffolk County Community College.
